The people around the Latin American Design Foundation(Jose) Jeroen Nas From May 1st, 2000 to September, 2001 Jeroen was the CEO of Exterre. Exterre delivered Fund and Venture Management Services, as well as Merger and Acquisition Services to Corporate Venture Funds, Venture Capitalists and Informal Investors. Exterre invested for its customers in (starting) companies and helped these companies to grow fast. Before this, Jeroen was Head of Electronic Banking/ Direct Channels at ING Bank Netherlands for two years. The marketing and product management of electronic banking services, internet services, telephony and the direct mail channel for both the retail, as well as the wholesale market, were the main areas that he was responsible for. He did this for both ING Bank Brands, including Postbank Zakelijk. A special area of interest was the development of electronic payment services, were Jeroen’s initiatives have lead to the introduction of a new ING payment services group for the Dutch market (TWYP; The Way You Pay). Within ING Group he participated in developing the electronic commerce strategy as well as in projects that evolved from this, like the Dutch free ISP ‘Freeler’. Before this, he was Manager ICT and internal communications at Rabofacet, the IT-branch of Rabobank. Until January 1996, he was manager Marketing & Business Development of the Internet branch of Rabobank: TrefPunt Nederland, that he had initiated and built into an organization of 120 people. He also initiated the first steps of Rabobank (www.rabobank.nl) on the electronic highway in 1994 and he thus created Europe's first -and later largest- banking website. Before he started Rabobank’s Internet projects, telecommunication projects like mobile telephony and new media projects were his area of expertise. The largest project involved a project in an alliance between BellSouth, Getronics, Schiphol Airport and Rabobank. Office automation and workflow management systems, as well as process reengineering have been the topics that Jeroen started to work with at Rabobank. Before the 5 years that Jeroen spent at Rabobank, he did a business reengineering project for a Dutch insurance company: Hooge Huys Verzekeringen. Educational base of Jeroen’s career was founded at the University of Amsterdam, where he studied business informatics/economics. Later he finished an Executive MBA at the Rotterdam School of Management/Erasmus University in Rotterdam (with honor). Since 1999 Jeroen teached at the financial MBA of the Scuola Superiore in Catania, Sicilia, the ING Busines School and numerous masters courses and MBA courses at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. The topics he teaches are ‘The Management of Strategic Alliances’, an ‘Electronic Commerce Overview’, ‘Electronic Payment Services’, ‘Distribution Strategies’ and ‘Valuation Methods for Investment Strategies’. Since 1998 he is a board member of the Dutch Internet Society, in which he is responsible for projects like the formation of the Dutch internet guarantee fund and the expert group Venture Capital.
